Climatic conditions:

Daintree climate is tropical all year with maximum temp of 32 C in the summer and 25 C in the winter. Most of all pack lightly - at 16 degrees south of the Equator, the weather in the Daintree is like Tahiti..

During the cooler, dry season the days are balmy and the evenings pleasantly cool (26 - 17 degrees Celsius). Summertime, or the green season, means warmer days and restorative rain. The rainforest revitalises itself and the streams are replenished.

Located in the heart of the Daintree Rainforest, the Daintree Discovery Centre is an easy 2 hour drive north of Cairns along one of the most beautiful coastal roads in the world. The scenery is unparalleled – sparkling azure blue waters contrast dramatically with the lush green of the tropical rainforest. The Daintree Rainforest is split into two sections divided by an agricultural piece of land. Together, the two sections cover around 1200 square kilometers of the tropical wilderness. Parts of the rainforest are protected by the Daintree National Park, which became a World Heritage Site in 1988. Some of the remaining sections of the rainforest are owned privately while other areas are State Forest.
