One of the world’s wettest regions is found in Meghalaya—Cheraapunji, which has an average annual precipitation of about 450 inches (11,430 mm) during monsoon season. The climate varies with the altitude. The climate of Meghalaya is generally mild. In August the mean temperature at the Khasi Hills is in the low 70s F (about 21–23 °C); it falls to the upper 40s F (about 8–10 °C) in January.True to its name, the Meghalaya sky seldom remains free of clouds. The average annual rainfall is about 1,150 cm. The best time to visit Meghalaya is between October and June.

The most adorable place which is a semishaped structure enclosed with the white mist around it! Shillong peak is loacted from about 10 km away from the main city Shillong. it is considered to the one of the most smmlest state in India. As an eagle you can view the entire place of mist fillesd with the cold shower which make your heart fill with happiness and good vibes. Shillong Peak has a telescope room available for tourists to get a panoramic view of the city from its top point known as Shillong Peak View Point. The city looks, even more, better during the evening. The Shillong View Point provides an amazing view of the clouds above the city. Shallong Peak is a place from where you can see the blue of the sky blending with the green of the hills in perfect fashion .
The shillong peak has its top most view and has an high altitude of 6,449ft. The Shillong Peak has a short pathway where you can walk around or just sit and enjoy the view. There are some small joints for tea and snacks and there are souvenir shops selling unique items that you will love to take back home. It was estimated that more than 300 vehicles entered the radar station each day and that would bring up a security issue. As this point serves as a radar station for Indian Air Force, you have to surrender your cameras. The views are mesmerizing all along the way to the top but the most amazing views are available right at the pinnacle of the Shillong Peak.
2.Mawphlang Scared Forest in Khasi Hills:
-Journey is bit long but not Strenuous-
This was not an ordinary forest that you cannot just go for the trekking with your loved ones but you have to careful with your each step. If you enter with the bad intensions then you would face the consequences. The only rule of the forest is one cannot allowed to take anything from here, not even a leaf, Legend has it that whosoever dared break said rule, There are tales of people who have broken this taboo becoming sick and even dying.
Mawphlang sacred forest is a serene place and a look at the forest from outside or a walk through any part of the forest is soothing to the eyes. The forest is so mysterious with its majestic trees, flowers and all kinds of mushrooms and fruits. It was a lovely experience. It is the khasi people's belief and also it is observed that if anyone takes even a single straw out of the forest might die or gets into a terrible accident within few hours.

These sacred groves also have luxuriant foliage of ferns, pipers and aroids. Trees of Castanopsis kurzii encompass this dense forest, thereby preventing them from getting mixed with the vegetation of Khasi pines. In this entire region the tribes follow the tradition of having a Sacred forest.Almost every tribe or kingdom has its own preserved and protected sacred forest. Mawphlang is perhaps the most famous of these. You cannot resist the temptation of going down your Kness. The priest and the wise had to finish it or leave it there.
3. Nohkalikai in Khasi Hills:
Nohkalikai is considered has the fourth longest waterfall in world. Are you going to chase the most wettest place in world then cherrapunjee is the perfect counter. The waterfall is located near Cherrapunji, one of the wettest places on Earth. Below the falls there has formed a plunge pool with unusual green colored water.This waterfall towers to a height of 1100 feet (335 m). It is a major tourist attraction in Meghalaya.
The water drops from a great height into a deep gorge and the sight is simply awe-inspiring. Attracting thousands of tourists every year during monsoons, the majestic waterfall is surrounded by lush greenery and is famous for a sad folk tale from where it gets its name. There will be points that look like dead ends, but adventurous souls will definitely trek through the gaps.
